"powerful singing and great guitar work... phenomenal Hammond... this was a great set"

Saturday session: After a fitful sleep what antidote do you need, yes, another day of bluesing at Carlisle!  Starting things off was Zoe Schwarz Blue Commotion.  Certainly, Zoe’s vocals were enough to make the assembled audience sit up and take notice.  Full of jazzy notes, powerful singing and great guitar work, this was a great set.  Better Days was a new song, a slow number with bags of feeling and a sublime guitar solo from Rob Koral.  The four-piece mixed blends of music on the slow bluesy number Don’t Hold Back.  Nothing but The Blues showed off Zoe’s vocal range again and sassy presentation.  Way Down in The Caves had a funky beat and phenomenal underpinning Hammond organ playing by Pete Whittaker.  A good set, and Zoe is such a stylish performer, she took I Put A Spell on You to a different level.
